Based on an open protocol and blockchain technology on top of the Stellar platform, LendLedger connects data providers, lenders, and borrowers for secure, transparent, cost-effective, and innovative interactions. A local milk salesman in India will now be able to get a loan through LendLedger, whereas before his lack of credit or banking history would prohibit loans to him, and others like him.

LendLedger unlocks data on informal and small business borrowers, making it viable for lenders to offer trillions in loans to these untapped segments.

LendLedger connects lenders to unleveraged digital data to help bridge the lending gap between institutional lending capital and informal borrowers. LendLedger brings together borrowers, data providers (DPs), and lenders in an open global ecosystem built on blockchain technology. Each party controls the transfer of their encrypted data, eliminating the risks of a centralized intermediary. All participants on LendLedger will require an interface to interact with the ecosystem. LendLedger will support participants in the initial stages by providing a suite of software services to enable a plug-and-play solution.

At LendLedger we’re striving to create a world where credit is available to everyone and trust between parties is a given. For far too long billions of potential borrowers, and the trillions of dollars which go with them, have been disregarded. Our co-founders Gautam Ivatury and Manish Khera saw this early on, when they created Happy Loans in India.

This same vision drives Stellar. The non-profit platform was established in 2014 with founder, Jed McCaleb, working to promote global financial access, literacy, and inclusion. Just like us Stellar agrees that universal access to affordable, financial services are a fundamental right. Seen from an ideological standpoint, for LendLedger, Stellar was the obvious choice.
